Faith Comes by Hearing: Listening to the New Testament during Lent

Free CD discs available to all and Kids Bible version also available!

PHBC will join hundreds of other Baptist churches across the country to listen to the entire dramatic reading of the New Testament on CD. The project is being sponsored by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship through a generous private grant that has made the free CDs available.

The CDs will be distributed through Sunday morning Bible Study Classes, and will also be available in the church foyer.

We hope all our folks will take the disc and try listening to it. Please feel free to return it if it doesn’t work in your player, or pass it along to a friend or neighbor.

The Kids Bible disc contains the entire Bible! Plus some songs for Kids! We are making these discs available to our children in Sunday School and Wednesday Kids Bible Study. We have also made them available to every family in our Dayschool program.

A love gift will be taken to support this ministry, and will be used to make a new translation available in the native language(s) of missionaries serving around the world.

Those in rural, impoverished areas of the world will be able to listen to the Bible on the “Proclaimer”----a CD player that runs on solar power or may be hand-cranked to produce power, or plugged into an outlet, if available. The Proclaimer has powerful volume so that large groups may gather and hear God’s word read in their own language.

Please be praying that our church will experience a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit as we listen together to the New Testament. If we each listen for about 25 minutes a day over the 40 days of Lent, we will complete hearing the New Testament read.
