Dr. Randy L. Hyde Pastor
Randy L. Hyde is a native of Paragould, Arkansas. He is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas with a B. A. in Religion, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky (Master of Divinity), and holds his doctorate from Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Hyde has served churches in Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, Florida, and his native state of Arkansas. He came to Pulaski Heights Baptist in March, 1996.
He is married to the former Janet Crawley of Forrest City, Arkansas, also an OBU alum. They have two children. Emily Rebecca is married to Arthur Raines Newberry, Jr., and lives in Macon, Georgia where she is co-director of the Partial Hospitalization program at the Colosseum Medical Center. They have two sons: Alexander Raines and Matthew Thomas. The Hydes’ son, Timothy Andrew, lives in Little Rock and is an Executive Account Manager for HealthSCOPE Benefits, a third party health benefits administrator. He is married to the former Kathryn Simpson of Little Rock.
Dr. Hyde is author of After God's Own Heart: The Life and Faith of David, published in the spring of 2005 by PublishAmerica of Baltimore. You can find his sermons posted each week via podcast on this website, and the website of the Baptist Center for Ethics. He enjoys golf, reading, photography, and occasionally plays the guitar for his own edification only.
Rev. James E. Munns, III Associate Pastor - Music & Administration

Jim Munns, a native of North Little Rock, joined the Pulaski Heights Baptist Church staff in 1986 and was ordained as a Baptist Minister in 1987. He directs the music programs of the church, worship planning, and supervises the non-ministerial staff and DaySchool Director. He serves as the staff liaison to the DaySchool Committee, Finance Committee, Furnishings Committee, Hostess Committee, Maintenance Committee, and Music Committee. Young at Heart, a monthly senior adult ministry of PHBC is administered by Jim in the planning of its activities.
Jim attended and received a Bachelor of Music degree in performance voice from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. After graduation from UALR, he did graduate study with Memphis State University before completing his Master of Music Education degree from Ouachita Baptist University.
Jim has a special interest in Missions. He has been involved with and attended state, national, and international mission trips.
He is actively involved in the music community and served as the conductor for the Arkansas Choral Society for many years. Jim has been a frequent guest soloist with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Arkansas Chamber Singers, Arkansas Choral Society, Arkansas Opera Theatre, and many colleges and universities. Recently, Jim has taught several semesters of Music Appreciation at Pulaski Technical College. Jim has been a Regional, District, and Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Auditions. He also has a deep interest in folk music, especially from Arkansas. He enjoys playing and teaching others to play the Mountain Dulcimer, a folk instrument. He serves as the secretary for the Rackensack Folklore Society, Pulaski County Chapter and is co-founder of the Arkansas Dulcimer Society.
Rev. Munns and his wife, Pat, have two children. His son, J.D. Munns serves with the United States Army in North Carolina, and has a wife named Chrissie and daughter named Daniell. Jim's daughter, Kimberly Johnson of Little Rock, and her husband, Mark, are the parents of two daughters, Olivia Grace and Ava Leigh, and one son, William Stewart. Kim is the Minister of Worship with Faith Springs Church and Mark is Manager of Network Development with Mercy Health.
Rev. Carolyn Yeldell Staley Associate Pastor - Discipleship and Missions
Carolyn Yeldell Staley came to Pulaski Heights Baptist as the Minister of Education in June 2005. She directs religious education and service projects and assists in preaching and worship. She serves as staff liaison to the Religious Education Committee, Ministry and Missions Committee, and Outreach Team.
Born in Kentucky, Carolyn grew up in Arkansas. The daughter of a Baptist minister, she lived in Clarksville, West Memphis and Hot Springs before college. She earned the Master of Theology degree from the John Leland Center for Theological Studies, Arlington, Virginia. She also attended Ouachita University and Indiana University, Bloomington where she received undergraduate and graduate degrees in voice and piano.
Before coming to PHBC, Carolyn was Associate Pastor at Briggs Memorial Baptist Church, Bethesda, MD, and Minister of Worship and Music at McLean Baptist Church, McLean, VA and Columbia Baptist Church, Falls Church, VA. She has served on the staff of Second Baptist Church and Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church in Little Rock. Carolyn was ordained to the ministry in 2002, and ordained as a deacon in 1997. She served as Chair of Deacons for McLean Baptist Church for two terms.
Carolyn has a special interest in the Mississippi Delta region. She spends time each month working with families in Helena-W. Helena in literacy, education, and job creation and training. She founded an adult literacy and jobs program called LIFE (Literacy is for Everyone) aimed at serving Delta communities. Carolyn has also spent several months over the past 3 years in Africa, working in Zambia, Angola and South Africa in HIV/AIDS education and literacy. She has also worked in AIDS education in India.
She is an active musician. She has sung in concerts all over the world, recently in Russia with conductor Sarah Caldwell of the Boston Opera. She was honored to be asked to chair the first presidential prayer service for Bill Clinton and to sing at all of his inaugurations as president and governor.
Carolyn is married to Jerry Staley, an architectural photographer and public school art teacher. They are the parents of three fantastic young-adults.
Mrs. Leann Dunham Broadway Director of Family Ministries and Dayschool
Leann joined the staff in October, 2000 as the Coordinator of Family Ministries. On September 5, 2006 she became the Director of the Dayschool. A Little Rock native, she attended Ouachita Baptist University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock before completing her training at the Baptist System School of Nursing for Registered Nurses. She is a fourth generation member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church and felt a call to ministry while working with the youth on mission trips. In her position, she works with the youth, children, and families and is responsible for intergenerational activities involving the church family. As the Dayschool Director, she works with 18 staff members caring for 95 children, six weeks to four years of age. Leann and her husband, Dewey, have two children; Chad attends Pratt Community College in Pratt, Kansas and Whitney attends Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
