CENTENNIAL BAKE SALE Saturday, March 30th 8 am – Noon   PHBC CENTENNTIAL BAKE SALE, Saturday, March 30!  An event to help end hunger in Arkansas.  All proceeds will go to the NO KID HUNGRY campaign.  Come purchase pies, cakes, cookies, brownies, breads, peanut brittle, fudge, and other favorites.  Easter cakes will be available just in time for Easter lunch on March 31.  Come celebrate with us!

Little Rock’s first public library opened on thesecond floor of the building that is now the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History.

The 1912 Summer Olympics were formally opened inStockholm, with 28 countries and 2,407 athletes (including 48 women) participating.

The new 48-star American flag was first raised as the symbol of the United States after New Mexico and Arizona were admitted tothe Union.

The Ladies Aid Society met and Mrs. Kingsleychaired the meeting in the absence of Mrs. McKenzie. Motion made and carried that instead ofbaking bread as had been planned, they would tack “comforts” to raisemoney. (No meetings were held after July3 until October 9.)
