In 2013, the church celebrated her Centennial. Chaired by Joni Lee, one of the church’s Deacons, the year’s events were a great success, capped off by a reunion weekend in August when a number of former members and families were in attendance. City dignitaries participated in worship August 25, marked by Mayor Mark Stodola declaring it to be “Pulaski Heights Baptist Church Day” in Little Rock. Items from the 75th anniversary cornerstone of 1988 were displayed in the sanctuary, and were replaced by current items. The “new” cornerstone is to be opened during the church’s Bicentennial in 2113.
In preparation for the celebration, the congregation participated in “100 Days of Prayer.” A devotional guide and journal was developed to assist participants in planning for the final weekend events in August. For the Centennial, Dr. Randy Hyde, Senior Pastor, and Edwinna Mann, church historian, wrote and compiled the church’s history. Entitled I Love to Tell the Story, it is available through the church office upon request.
Dr. Hyde celebrated his twentieth anniversary in April 2016. In honor of the occasion, the parlor was renamed “The Hyde Parlor.”
