Young at Heart members will be touring three Little Rock Churches on February 6, 2013. Our tour will begin at 10:00 am in the Cedar Street parking lot. Our first stop will be Calvary Baptist Chruch to see their new Sanctuary. Then we will make our way downtown to the Flying Fish Resturant for lunch in the River Market. Arkansas Dulcimer Society members meet the second Saturday of every month at Pulaski Heights Bpatist Church. We start at 2:00 pm with seperate classes for Mountain Dulcimer and for Hammered Dulcimer. At 3:00 pm both groups join together for a Jam Session. We end at 4:00 pm. All classes and the Jam are held on Second Floor. Congratulations… to Claire Rogers for receiving the Pulaski Heights Kiwanis Club’s C. R. Bates Spiritual Aims Award, given to high school students who are actively involved in community service through their church’s ministry. Claire is pictured with Pam Bacaam, KTHV news anchor and banquet guest speaker. The late Mr. Bates, for whom the award is named, was a PHBC member.
Join us for a delicious Advent Breakfast in Hicks Hall. The Young Adult and Seeker class will serve the meal. Come celebrate this last Sunday of Advent and visit with friends. Children’s classes will meet at 9:30 AM and some Bible Study classes will go to their regular classrooms as well. Others may wish to stay at the tables and have class there or visit. On Sunday evening, December 2 from 5:30-7:30 our children, Dayschool and children throughout the community are invited to attend a big Christmas party in Hicks Hall. We begin with supper at 5:30, then move to a time of craft and gift-making at 4-5 stations. After crafts, we participate in a Nativity Play on stage with costumed kids taking the parts of characters in the Bible story about Christ’s birth. We invite the community, UAMS students and faculty, staff, interns, any needy families or individuals, and anyone who is alone for Thanksgiving to come celebrate the day with us for a festive, traditional Thanksgiving Dinner! The meal will be served in Hicks Hall at Noon on Thanksgiving Day. Our church will provide the main course of turkey, dressing, gravy, rolls and beverages. Our Hillcrest Farmers Market is staying open October-April on Saturday mornings, and we understand this move makes ours the only year-round farmers market in the state. The Fall-Winter market will open from 8 to Noon on Saturdays. Our May-September hours are 7 AM to Noon. The farmers came to us and asked if they could be allowed to continue to sell after our regular market season, May-September, ended. They have had good success at our market and have fall and winter crops they’d like to sell. We agreed, but stipulated that during these months […]
Come celebrate Halloween with us on Wednesday evening, October 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on the Cedar Street parking lot. Our members and classes will park cars and vans around the lot’s perimeter, and decorate them for spooky fun! They’ll have candy and treats to give to the children who come by.
