May 5, 2012 the Arkansas Dulcimer Society will be meeting in Searcy, Arkansas for Pioneer Days. We will be playing from 2 – 4 pm in the Pioneer Village.
On Easter Sunday, April 8 we will gather to celebrate the resurrection of Christ and the gift of eternal life for all who believe and follow Him! Small group Bible study for all ages and Sunday School for children begins at 9:30 AM. Nursery care is provided. Worship is at 10:45 AM and will include wonderful music by handbells, choirs and soloists. You are always welcome at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, and we hope to see you!
At noon on Good Friday, April 6 we will gather at noon in the sanctuary to remember the day of Christ’s death on the cross for our salvation. Following the service we will gather in Hicks Hall for a fellowship luncheon. Please join us!
Our popular Hillcrest Farmers Market will open for the second season on April 14 and continue for three weeks in advance of the Grand Opening May 5. Our growers and vendors have been busy and crops are good, so they would like to get an early start in April. Come see them and support our area farmers and friends!
Sunday morning March 4 at 9:30, Pulaski Heights Baptist is hosting it’s first KIDS FUN RUN as part of the Little Rock Marathon celebration. The event is for children Pre-K through Grade 5. It will be a “dash” for each age group along the Kavanaugh sidewalk in front of the church at Kavanaugh and Cedar. Medals will be awarded to all participants! PHBC will observe the annual Martha S. Marshall Day of Baptist Women in Preaching. Rev. Carolyn Y. Staley, Associate Pastor, and Mollie Palmer, Co-director of Together for Hope, Helena will share the sermon time during worship at 10:45 AM. Martha Stearns Marshall (1726-1754) was a Separate Baptist preacher in the southern United States. Yoga/stretch class meets Tuesdays, 6-6:30 PM and is led by Excellentae Fit instructor, Sabreena. We do a great series of exercises, with personal attention to each participant from our instructor. $10 Beginning Fencing Class meets at 7:30. The class is free for church members. The Pulaski Heights Baptist Children’s Team has a great schedule of events planned for 2012. Sunday, February 12 is a Valentine’s Breakfast Party in the Rec Hall. Children will enjoy breakfast and make two Valentine crafts—one to take home, and one for our homebound members to enjoy. Sunday, March 4 is Little Rock Marathon Sunday. We leave at 9:30 am, Thursday January 12, to travel toward Benton for Shopping. Lunch wuill be at Brown’s County Kitchen. Following lunch, there will be more shopping! We will return by 4:00 pm.
