Things I know…or think I know…. We meet again this Sunday in Hicks Hall. According to information sent by Carolyn last week…another class will furnish the snacks. Leesa, I guess you are still on hold for a later date. Everyone I talked with regarding last weeks class was most complimentary. Saturday, Sept. 24 – Meet at Playtime Pizza, 600 Colonel Glenn  from 11:00 -1:00 for fun , food, and excitement.  The church will pay for admisison/buffet.  Bring your money for tokens and rides. 

Happy sparklers and all that is patriotic!!! Just a few reminders this week. Family Promise will complete their week with us Sunday morning. Our group will be serving 2 meals before then. Mike and I stayed with the families overnight last Sunday and I believe John was there last night. Think about volunteering next time. It’s not so bad….roll-a-way bed that makes funny noises for one night…not the sidewalk for weeks. You can do this!! Dates and events to remember: Saturday–June 25th—Farmers Market continues. What have you eaten from the Market? I’m curious:) Everything I have had has been great—squash, strawberries, tomatoes, blueberries, bread, cheese…. Sunday–June 26–H Facilatates our study of Purpose Driven Life–Chapters 23-25. Whitney sings solo during church. Leann in usual role with Children’s sermon. There are no Deacon’s of the week nor Greeters of the week from the Combo this week—that is rare!!! Class members in the news: Beth Nutt, speech pathologist at ACH received the 2011 Arkansas Children’s Hospital Care, Love and Hope award.  Each year employees and medical staff nominate an individual who exemplifies the care, love and hope given every day by ACH.  This year there were 10 nominations from a variety of departments.  Our Beth was deemed the best of the best!! Yeah! Beth The Dewey Broadway Apprenticeship award was inaugurated in memory of Dewey.  This award was established by the Arkansas Construction Education Foundation and will be called the Dewey Broadway Apprenticeship Instructor [...]

Last night we concluded our “Sonsurf Beach Bash” Vacation Bible School 2011, and it was a truly outstanding week by any measure! We ministered to 87 children and families—even though school wasn’t out until our last day!  We had set our dates around our youth mission trip, and then faced many snow make-up days. But you CAME! The mission offering to help Leena Lavanya and ServeTrust ministries in India collected $1441—-AN HISTORIC HIGH! Starting Wednesday night, June 15, 2011 there will be new summer Wednesday Night Music Fun in Room 100.  Melanie Martin, Jim Munns, Debbie Rogers, and Sandy Thomas will be leading this new 5 week music adventure.   Starting June 15 will be “Tame the Tone Chime”.  All about Tone Chimes, a real “hands-on” experience. Then on June 22  “Dueling with Dulcimers” – everything anyone would ever want to know about the dulcimer. June 29 will take us up into the hidden organ chamber to see how it really works, we call it –  ”Play the pipe [...]

VBS WEEK! Our super Sonsurf Beach Bash week begins Sunday evening, June 5th and continues through Thursday, June 9th, from 5:15 to 8 PM each evening. We begin with supper for children and workers at 5:15 in Hicks Hall, and close with our evening assembly at 7:30 each day. Parents pick up their children in designated places at 8 PM. We look forward to all the fun and ministry during the week. It’s fun to tell our children about Jesus’ love and learn wonderful songs and verses to cherish for a lifetime! Our church will [...]
