We will gather on Thursday evening, as Jesus and his disciples did before his last days, for supper and fellowship, then go to the sanctuary for worship and reflection. We will share the Lord’s Supper together as a part of worship. You are invited to join us. Please call the church office at 661-1129 for more information or to let us know you are coming for the 5:15 PM supper.

Mark your calendars now and plan to attend our PHBC Women’s Retreat on Saturday, April 21. We will enjoy the hospitality of Carol Smelley at her beautiful retreat-setting home in west Little Rock, plus fun, friendship and food! Rev. Brock Patterson and Kim Munns Johnson, worship team at FaithSpring Church, will lead the retreat.  Our theme is “How Does Your Garden Grow?”  We’ll have worship/praise time, plus study, discussion and prayer time.  There will also be opportunities to deepen friendships.  The beautiful location offers walking amid the glories of spring! Things I know…or think I know…. We meet again this Sunday in Hicks Hall. According to information sent by Carolyn last week…another class will furnish the snacks. Leesa, I guess you are still on hold for a later date. Everyone I talked with regarding last weeks class was most complimentary. ALERT! Rabbi Levy will begin our curriculum at 9:30 SHARP. His topic will be “A Magical Mystery Tour Through the Jewish Star”. We should have a room full…maybe some visitors…might even need extra chairs. Rabbi Levy is retired now, having served Congregation B’nai Israel of Little Rock from l987- October 2011. We leave at 9:30 am, Thursday January 12,  to travel toward Benton for Shopping.  Lunch wuill be at Brown’s County Kitchen.  Following lunch, there will be more shopping!  We will return by 4:00 pm.

Join the PHBC church family and friends for our annual Christmas Feast on December 18th at 5:30 PM.  Entertainment will be by the Swing Band Reunion.  Join in singing carols and Christmas songs, including the traditional “Twelve Days of Christmas”.  Reservations are required.  Tickets are available from Leann Broadway or the church office.  

Christmas music will be presented as the morning worship service on December 4, 2011.  The Sanctuary Choir will present a special musical work “Mary Did you Know?”.    The choir will be accompanied by an orchestra with piano and organ.  The presentation is under the direction of Rev. Jim Munns.  Also on December 4, 2011 the Hosanna Ringers will perform as part of the special Christmas Music Celebration.

Our new class member, Bill (yes, he told me he wanted to stay with us) has already volunteered! Things you might want to know this week: Our folks in the news–Fran on TV reporting that the outdated and no longer needed drugs handed over during the drug take-back event amounted to a successful drive. I don’t remember how many pounds were collected. It was a lot and they will be disposed of in a safe manner. Yea! Fran.
