The Ministry and Missions Committee has outlined several opportunities that serve our world, our nation, our state, and our community. The schedule of focus for church-wide ministries is, as follows:

Digging a well in Zambia, Africa
We are asking volunteers to be on an email alert list to be contacted when a disaster hits our state, and to be willing to go with a team of workers to help as needed. Much of the work often includes debris removal from storm sites, but also includes handing out food and clothes, and being a shoulder to lean on for prayer and encouragement. If you will help, please contact Carolyn Staley.
As a new Christian group has emerged in Slovakia through the ministry of CBF missionaries, Diane and Shane McNary, they need a place to meet and worship. A coffee house/church in Cinobana has begun, and the building needs funds for repairs and expansion. CBF Arkansas has set a goal of $15,000 to be matched. PHBC will seek to raise $2,500 toward that goal.
To help the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship ministry targeting the 20 poorest counties in the US, Pulaski Heights Baptist is deeply involved in serving where we are needed, particularly in Helena-West Helena. PHBC has provided teams of workers for Vacation Bible School and the library’s Stories on Wheels ministry. PHBC will send a team of 10 workers to Helena July 12-16 to lead Vacation Bible School and to teach swim classes for children and then parents. We need towels, beach bags, and swim suits for children and adults.
We continue to raise funds to install wells in Zambia and Kenya through the work of missionaries there. To date we have provided funds for 6-7 wells that give life and hope to rural villages. Goal: $2,000.
PHBC has been working closely with Arkansas CBF to improve the Arkansas Baptist College campus and surrounding downtown neighborhood. Volunteers are needed to work on campus in service projects, and in the area around campus.
PHBC will collect warm coats, hats and gloves for children in Helena. Toys for children are also needed. These will be distributed at the community Christmas party led by CBF mission workers, Ben and Leonora Newell. Baskets for your donated goods will be placed around the church. Thank you for giving!
