The Ministry and Missions Committee has outlined several opportunities that serve our world, our nation, our state, and our community. The schedule of focus for church-wide ministries is, as follows:
Family Promise is an organization that provides food and shelter for families that are temporarily displaced and seeking jobs and housing. Family Promise is supported by twelve churches in the metropolitan Little Rock area, which house and feed the families in the program on a rotating basis. These churches become homes for the displaced families while they get back on their feet.
Pulaski Heights Baptist Church is a proud member of Family Promise of Little Rock, participating as one of several churches in the county that provide a home to families who are temporarily homeless. Once a quarter our church class rooms become home to parents and children. For one week each quarter church members participate in this ministry by preparing meals, providing friendship and hospitality, staying overnight as hosts, and helping children with homework. Bible study classes provide hot meals each evening, and folks also spend the night at the church to offer any needed help. Most importantly, they encourage our guest families to have hope.
Our pastor, Dr. Hyde, currently serves on the Family Promise Board.
We receive regular missions offerings on three occasions:
In addition, gifts are received following each service that features the Lord’s Supper. Proceeds are used for benevolence opportunities.
