PHBC is a small church located in the heart of Little Rock’s historic Hillcrest community. Our slogan is “Traditional Worship. Contemporary Thinking.” As this indicates, our style of worship is decidedly traditional. We sing from hymnals, say the Lord’s Prayer together every week, and follow the Christan Calendar. However, as our slogan also indicates, we feel that our thinking is contemporary and relevant to today’s world. We try to be open-minded. For example, we not only have women deacons, but our Minister of Education, Rev. Carolyn Yeldell Staley, periodically preaches in our pastor’s absence.
